American Express to Acquire Center for Expense Management

American Express has announced an agreement to acquire Center, a software company specializing in modernizing expense management. The acquisition aims to integrate Center’s technology with American Express’ corporate and small business cards, providing businesses with a seamless solution for managing expenses. Center’s platform offers real-time visibility into employee spending, automates accounting tasks, and simplifies expense submissions. By combining these capabilities, American Express seeks to enhance efficiency for businesses, helping them streamline financial processes while maximizing the benefits of corporate card programs. The transaction is expected to close in the second quarter of 2025, subject to customary conditions.

Raymond Joabar, Group President of Global Commercial Services at American Express, emphasized that incorporating the Center’s technology will help businesses save time and resources. Center’s CEO and Co-Founder, Naveen Singh, highlighted that integrating their software with American Express aligns with their mission of simplifying expense management. The enhanced platform will offer businesses an automated, mobile-friendly solution, ensuring compliance with company policies while optimizing rewards and spending control.
