BNP Paribas has announced that Marc Camus will succeed Bernard Gavgani as Group Chief Information Officer. Camus will join the Group’s Executive Committee and report to Chief Operating Officer Philippe Maillard. As CIO, he will lead the Group’s IT strategy, focusing on enhancing system security, improving operational efficiency, and advancing customer experience through the use of technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing. Camus, who has been with the BNP Paribas Group since 1996, previously served as CIO of BNP Paribas Fortis and held several senior positions across CIB IT and operations.
Philippe Maillard, Chief Operating Officer of BNP Paribas, expressed confidence in Camus’s appointment stating, “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Marc Camus as the head of our IT department. His recognized expertise and extensive experience in technology and innovation will help drive our digital strategy and meet the needs of our clients.
