Pinch Payments, a payment facilitator with operations in Australia and New Zealand, has been bought by Fiserv, a technology provider for financial services and payments. Pinch, which was founded in 2017, provides a powerful platform called Glassbox that makes payment orchestration easier for almost 2,000 merchants. Thanks to this purchase, Fiserv now has the resources necessary to enable quicker service delivery and adaptable solutions for businesses, independent software suppliers, billing service providers, and payment facilitators. Furthermore, the connection facilitates the expansion of Clover, Fiserv's cloud-based point-of-sale and business management platform, to additional retailers in the Asia-Pacific area.
Gavin Jones, Head of Fiserv Australia, emphasized, “By integrating our leading digital payments solutions with Pinch’s innovative technology and local expertise, we can deliver innovative payment solutions to empower merchants across the APAC region. We welcome the Pinch associates to the Fiserv family and are committed to seamless integration of services for our customers.” Pinch CEO Paul Allen expressed confidence in the partnership and outlined plans for regional growth. As a Fortune 500 company, Fiserv continues to support businesses through a variety of financial technologies, including digital banking, card processing, and e-commerce services. The addition of Pinch Payments is expected to enhance Fiserv’s reach and operational flexibility in the APAC market.
