Klarna Expands In-Store Payment Options Through Clover Partnership

Klarna has entered a strategic partnership with Clover, the advanced point-of-sale system by Fiserv, to extend Klarna’s flexible payment options to more than 100,000 merchant locations across the United States. This agreement marks a significant move in Klarna’s expansion into in-store payments, allowing shoppers to use Klarna’s services for purchases made at physical locations, including local shops and service businesses. Through Clover’s network, small businesses will be able to offer Klarna’s flexible payment methods, including immediate debit and interest-free installment plans, which are already widely used in online transactions.

The collaboration is set to enhance customer experience and increase sales opportunities for small retailers by offering more convenient payment options at checkout. Initially available at select Clover-powered merchants, Klarna will become more visible to in-store shoppers through signage on payment devices, with a broader rollout planned for 2026. In addition to in-store services, the partnership plans to expand into e-commerce and potentially reach new regions. Executives from both companies emphasized the shared goal of supporting small businesses and improving shopping experiences at key interaction points. With this integration, Klarna and Clover aim to simplify payments while helping businesses attract and retain customers more effectively.
