Tandem Bank Appoints Neil Chandler as CEO for Growth

Tandem Bank, a UK digital bank focused on sustainability and customer service, has announced the appointment of Neil Chandler as its new Chief Executive Officer, subject to regulatory approval. Chandler brings over 30 years of experience across banking, fintech, and technology sectors, most recently serving as CEO of Aion Bank, where he led its successful sale to UniCredit Group. He succeeds Alex Mollart, who steps down after three years of leading Tandem through a period of strong performance. Tandem recently reported 40% year-over-year profit growth, nearly $130 million in annual revenue, over $2 billion in assets under management, and over $672 in green lending.

Chandler praised Tandem’s reputation for customer service and sustainability, stating, “Tandem's known for putting customers first. Yes, the products and tech are top notch, but importantly the bank is award-winning for its customer service. That relentless customer focus – and the bank’s dual purpose helping customers transition to a greener lifestyle while saving them money along the way – is what attracted me to Tandem.” Chairman Paul Pester expressed confidence in Chandler’s appointment, adding, “He’s got the pedigree, the passion, and the vision to match our ambitions – with the perfect combination of experience across technology, fintech and banking.” Mollart said that Tandem had become a successful, high-growth fintech with a strong customer-focused mission. He felt it was the right time to step down and expressed confidence that Chandler was the right person to lead the company forward.
