Temu, the international online marketplace, has entered into a strategic partnership with Canadian fintech company Nuvei to improve the shopping experience by offering customers more localized payment options. This collaboration enables shoppers to make seamless and secure transactions using their preferred local payment methods alongside traditional card payments. The integration supports regional payment options including Konbini in Japan, Blik and P24 in Poland, Bancontact in Belgium, iDeal in the Netherlands, and MBWAY and Multibanco in Portugal. As part of its long-term strategy, Temu plans to further expand its localized payment solutions into new markets by the end of 2025.
Nuvei’s technology supports international eCommerce businesses by optimizing payment authorization and providing access to various alternative payment methods. Its expertise has attracted companies including Charles & Keith, which use Nuvei for local and international payment processing. Philip Fayer, Nuvei Chair and CEO, said, "By offering hyper-localized payment experiences on a global scale, we're enabling international eCommerce giants like Temu to develop deeper relationships with their customers through payments, wherever they are and however they want to pay.”
