Henrik Wallström has been appointed Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for European operations at Trustly, a leader in open banking payments. Wallström joins from Sinch, where he was previously the CTO for the Applications business unit. In his previous role, he was responsible for overseeing global teams and integrating acquired companies. His extensive background includes significant roles at Klarna, where he launched the Consumer Growth domain, and founding Finsit, a business intelligence tool for accounting data, used by over 30,000 companies prior to its acquisition by Wolters Kluwer in 2018. Henrik’s appointment is timely as Trustly is set to process $100 billion in total payments value annually, marking a major shift in the payments landscape.
Johan Tjärnberg, Group CEO at Trustly, emphasized, “Henrik brings a wealth of experience in building resilient, high-performing systems, which will be invaluable as we strengthen our capabilities.” Henrik Wallström expressed his enthusiasm for joining Trustly, stating “The business’ technology firmly positions it as a leader in the open banking space. I am looking forward to helping the company to continue to innovate in the years ahead and to support the development of new solutions to fuel growth and increase adoption of our game-changing technology.” Trustly aims to leverage Henrik's expertise to deliver more robust and reliable services for its partners, positioning itself for significant growth in the months ahead.
