Valereum Names Gary Cottle as CEO to Lead Digital Asset Strategy

Valereum has named Gary Cottle as its new Chief Executive Officer. Cottle, who had previously served as both an Advisor and Board Member at Valereum, brings over three decades of experience in traditional finance, having held senior roles at institutions such as Barclays, Morgan Stanley, RBS, and Nomura. His appointment comes as the company sharpens its focus on digital assets and tokenization, following its acquisition of GSX Group. In a statement, Cottle said, “It very much feels like we’re in the ‘Big Bang’ once again — early days in a rapidly growing market.”

Valereum Chairman James Formolli described Cottle’s appointment as part of the company’s effort to scale globally and attract high-level financial talent. The company has recently increased its investments in blockchain, AI, cryptocurrency, and tokenization technologies, and operates VLRM Markets in El Salvador to better understand digital economy trends. The leadership change follows what the company described as “recent events,” which have reinforced its strategy to limit shareholder dilution and collaborate with technology innovators. Valereum has indicated it will provide further updates on its business direction shortly.
